IPL 2025 Schedule: The 18th season of Indian Premier League starts today with a blockbuster encounter between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 22 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The first El Clasico will be on March 23 when Chennai Super Kings host Mumbai Indians in a night game in Chepauk.
A total of 74 matches will be played across 13 venues, which include 12 double headers. It is to be noted that, since the IPL was expanded to 10 teams in 2022, the BCCI decided against the double round-robin fixtures.
Under the new rules, 10 teams are divided to two groups of five teams each. Each team will play five teams twice and rest four teams once. Each team will play the rest of the teams in their respective groups and one team from other group twice.
The afternoon games will begin at 03.30 PM IST, the evening games will begin from 07.30 PM IST.
