AFG vs BAN T20 World Cup: Australia knocked out; Bangladesh gets trashed for negative cricket, ‘Just embarrassing stuff’

Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by eight runs and reached the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in a dramatic victory that has now eliminated Australia from the tournament. Bangladesh Team on the other hand is also getting trashed for negative cricket.

Former New Zealand cricketer and now commentator Simon Doull said, "I don't get what Bangladesh are doing. They're more worried about winning the match rather than qualifying for Semis".

Netizens also reacted on Bangladesh's performance and said, “They are playing for some money.”

Another user added, “Just embarrassing stuff from Bangladesh they deserve to lose this”

Some other added, “Bangladesh have given up, no surprise really.”

“I don't understand what Bangladesh are trying to do here, winning for nothing. At least try to play in the Semi Final, they are not trying to chase it in 12.1 overs.”

One user commented, “Bangladeshi cricket team lost respect way back in Sri Lanka. They had a great side in 2015 WC but never progressed post that.”

Some other added, “Really suprising they had the match at 3 overs 43,they could have easily given it a shot .”

AFG vs BAN match highlights

Rashid Khan and Naveen-ul-Haq led the Afghan bowling attack and helped their side defend the given target of 115. The second inning of the match was reduced to 19 overs, and the target was 114 runs after Rain played a spoilsport in the second inning. Khan also registered a remarkable record as he became the player with the most four-wicket hauls in the Men's T20Is.

The 25-year-old has nine four-wicket hauls in the Men's T20Is followed by Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan with eight four-wicket hauls in the Men's T20Is. Uganda's Henry Ssenyondo holds the third place.

In today's match, from Bangladesh, only Litton Das remained the standout batter as he scored an unbeaten 54 runs from 49 balls powdered by 5 fours and 1 six..
