US Presidential Elections 2024 Highlights: All eyes are set for the high stakes battle between US Vice President, and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, and former US President, and Republican Donald Trump, on November 5.
Poll data has revealed a close race between Harris and Trump, with the latter leading at a narrow margin of one per cent in swing states such as Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina. For the 2024 US Elections, Pennsylvania is the most important of the seven other swing states, reported The New York Times.
As the world's largest economy gears to elect a President for the country, presidential candidates continue to receive endorsements, with one gaining more support than the other.
At the Pennsylvania rally, former US President Barack Obama endorsed Kamala Harris, highlighting her historic candidacy. He criticised Donald Trump’s leadership and expressed understanding of voter frustration, urging a shift towards change as he aims to galvanise support for Harris. Meanwhile, Elon Musk has remained as Donald Trump's biggest endorsee so far, with speculations of him being appointed to Trump's cabinet, if the Republican wins.

US Elections 2024 Live: Barack Obama said, "Real strength is about helping people who need it. It’s about standing up for those who can’t always stand up for themselves. Let’s get to work and vote for the leaders who demonstrate that kind of character. Vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz."
US Elections 2024 Live: Donald Trump’s campaign is reportedly asking the government to provide increased security for the Republican candidate. According to Politico, the campaign is requesting the use of military aircraft for the candidate as well as additional Secret Service protection for Trump following two apparent assassination attempts and the revelation that Iran has targeted him for retribution for the U.S. killing of Qassem Soleimani in January 2020.
With just three weeks left for the critical US Presidential Polls, both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are engaged in a fight to the finish. In the crucial swing state Pennsylvania, Trump addressed two rallies earlier this week while Harris had former President Barack Obama trying to close out the state for the Democrats. All polls are showing the race to be extremly tight with narrow leads projected for both leaders in different polls.
Cameron Kerry, professor at Brookings Institution, believes that it is going to be an "extremely tight race" and any of the two -- Harris or Trump -- could end up winning the race. (ANI)
Millions of dollars have poured into bets on who will win the US election after a last-minute court ruling opened up gambling on the vote, upping the stakes on a too-close-to-call race that has already put voters on edge.
Contracts for a Harris victory were trading between 48 and 50 percent in favor of the Democrat on Friday on Interactive Brokers, a firm that has taken advantage of a legal opening created earlier this month in the country's long running regulatory battle over election markets. (AFP)
US Vice President and Democratic White House hopeful Kamala Harris appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine Friday, with the style bible calling her a "candidate for our times."
A cover shot by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz captured the 59-year-old in a chocolate-colored suit and a silk blouse, seated in an armchair.
A long article on Harris features a series of largely familiar anecdotes, including the story of her sudden rise to the top of the Democratic ticket after President Joe Biden's shock withdrawal from the race in July. (AFP)
Vice President Kamala Harris vowed to create a bipartisan council to advise her on policy if she wins November’s election, part of an effort to broaden the appeal of the Democratic ticket by courting independent voters and Republicans wary of Donald Trump.
“I love good ideas wherever they come from,” Harris said Friday at an event with Republican supporters in Scottsdale in the crucial swing state of Arizona. “So I’m going to create a bipartisan council so we can put some structure around exactly this point and do the work that is important.” (Bloomberg)
Donald Trump 's aides have requested a slew of stepped-up security measures, including military aircraft capable of shooting down surface-to-air missiles to transport the former president in the race's final stretch, amid growing concerns over threats from Iran in a campaign already shaken by violence.
The campaign's highly unusual request comes as the Republican candidate faces death threats from Iran, which has also targeted other former Trump administration officials and has also been blamed for a widespread hack of top campaign officials. Trump narrowly survived one assassination attempt and U.S. Secret Service agents foiled a second, though neither case has been publicly linked to Iranian actors. (AP)
US Elections 2024 Live: Donald Trump in a post on X said, “We are now known, all throughout the world, as OCCUPIED AMERICA...But to everyone here in Colorado and all across our nation, I make you this vow: November 5th, 2024 will be LIBERATION DAY in America.” He added, “I will rescue Aurora and every town that has been invaded and conquered—and we will put these vicious and bloodthirsty criminals in jail or kick them the hell OUT OF OUR COUNTRY.”

US Elections 2024 Live: Donald Trump is detouring from the battleground states Friday to visit a Colorado suburb that's been in the news over illegal immigration as he drives a message that migrants are causing chaos in smaller American cities and towns, often using false or misleading claims to do so.
US Elections 2024 Live: Voters in the nation’s seven battleground states see Donald Trump as better equipped than Kamala Harris to handle the issues they care about most—the economy and border security—yet are divided about evenly over which candidate should lead the nation, a new Wall Street Journal poll finds.
The survey of the most contested states finds Harris with slim leads in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia on ballots that include independent and third-party candidates where they will be offered as options. Trump has a narrow edge in Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. But no lead is greater than 2 percentage points, except for Trump’s 5-point advantage in Nevada, which like the others is within the poll’s margin of error.
Across the full set of 4,200 swing-state voters, Trump gets 46% support and Harris draws 45%. The survey finds that the race in every state—and therefore the presidential election—is too close to call. If Harris wins the states where she leads in the poll, she would win a narrow majority in the Electoral College.
