US Vice President JD Vance wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "It was an honor to see Prime Minister Modi this evening. He’s a great leader and he was incredibly kind to my family. I look forward to working under President Trump’s leadership to strengthen our friendship and cooperation with the people of India!"

US Vice President JD Vance, accompanied by his family, is scheduled to land at Jaipur International Airport at 9:30 pm today (April 21), where they will be received by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and the Governor. The family will then proceed to the Rambagh Palace for their stay.

On Tuesday (April 22), Vance and family will begin his tour in Jaipur with visits to key landmarks such as Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, and Jantar Mantar. In the afternoon, he will attend a special program at the Rajasthan International Centre. Later in the evening, he is set to meet with CM Bhajanlal Sharma and the Governor.

On Wednesday (April 23), the Vance family will travel to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal and explore Shilpgram, a market renowned for Indian arts and crafts. Their visit concludes on Thursday (April 24), with their departure from India at 6:40 am IST.

US Vice President JD Vance has departed from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence at 7 LKM following a successful bilateral meeting.

The discussions focused on enhancing India-US. relations across various sectors, including trade, defense, and energy.

PM Modi and US Vice President JD Vance reviewed progress made since their February 2025 meeting in Paris.

Both leaders welcomed progress in the India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement, focusing on mutual benefits for their people.

Energy, Defence, and Technology Cooperation: The two leaders highlighted continued efforts to enhance cooperation in energy, defence, strategic technologies, and other critical sectors.

PM Modi and VP Vance exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, advocating for dialogue and diplomacy.

Both leaders positively assessed the developments in various areas of bilateral cooperation.

PM Modi and VP Vance reaffirmed their commitment to furthering India-U.S. relations for the benefit of both nations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host a dinner for US Vice President JD Vance and his family shortly.

The dinner follows high-level bilateral talks between the two leaders in New Delhi.

JD Vance is accompanied by his wife, Usha Chilukuri, who is of Indian origin, and their children.

A senior US delegation is also part of the gathering at the Prime Minister’s residence.

The visit underscores growing India-US ties and cultural connections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US Vice President JD Vance have commenced their highly anticipated bilateral talks in New Delhi.

The discussions are expected to cover the proposed India-US trade pact and explore avenues to further strengthen strategic and economic ties.

The meeting will conclude with a dinner hosted by PM Modi at his official residence.

"...He is going to have an important meeting with the Prime Minister and also it a cultural visit to the country in which he is deeply invested in his family,” said former Ambassador to the US and BJP leader Taranjit Singh Sandhu.

US Vice President JD Vance, accompanied by his Indian-origin wife Usha Vance and their three children, visited the Central Cottage Industries Emporium (CCIE) in Janpath, New Delhi.

The family purchased traditional Indian handicrafts, including wooden items, handloom products, and brassware.

CCIE is a government-run showroom that showcases authentic handloom and handicraft products from across India.

"It was a wonderful visit and he (Vance) enjoyed it a lot. We were quite enthusiastic. He also purchased some items from our showroom," CCIE General Manager Meera Somani told PTI.

"They were very happy to see Indian handicraft and handloom products under one roof," Anil Rajak, a staffer, said.

JD Vance India Visit LIVE: Hours after arriving in Delhi, Vance and his family are scheduled to visit the Akshardham temple. They could also visit a shopping complex selling traditional Indian handcrafted goods, PTI was told.

Vance is expected to leave Delhi on Monday night and travel to Jaipur and Agra thereafter.

JD Vance India Visit LIVE: As US Vice President J D Vance and Second Lady Usha land in Delhi, the security in the capital city was tightened on Monday, a senior police official told PTI.

Vance, his Indian-origin wife Usha and their three children -- Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel – landed at the Palam airbase today. They are on a four-day visit to India.

"We have already conducted mock drills according to the security protocol for the high-level visit of the US vice president. Security has been tightened across different areas of Delhi to ensure that everything goes smoothly and no untoward incident happens during the visit," the official said.

US Vice President JD Vance has landed in India, reported Reuters. 

He is being accompanied by Second Lady Usha Vance, their children, and senior members of the US Administration. He will meet PM Modi today

The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory ahead of US VP JD Vance's visit to Delhi. The notice posted on X, states that from 9 am to 11 am on April 21, no vehicles will be allowed to park on Sardar Patel Marg, Gurugram Road, Parade Road, Thimmaiya Marg, Air Force Road, and nearby areas. 

“Commuters are advised to avoid these routes during this time. Any vehicles found parked improperly in these zones will be towed and taken to the traffic pit located at Kalibari Mandir Marg, in front of Bhairon Temple,” the police said. 

United States Vice Presidenr JD Vance is set to land in Delhi soon with his Indian-origin wife Usha and three children – sons Ewan and Vivek, and daughter Mirabel.

Vance is set to visit India for four days, and this is his first trip to India after becoming US Vice President. While no details are out yet, Vance's itinerary is expected to be primarily cultural engagements and visits to historic sites in Jaipur and Agra. The only formal engagement, announced so far, is a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 6.30 pm today.

US Vice President JD Vance's aircraft is scheduled to land at Air Force Station, Palam, in New Delhi at about 9.30 am IST on Monday, April 21. 

A Union Minister would receive the US Vice President at about 10 am.

JD Vance India Visit LIVE: US Vice President JD Vance, Second Lady Usha and their kids are expected to land in Delhi at 9:30 am and their formal reception is scheduled for 10 am at Delhi's Palam Airport. A formal meeting between JD Vance and PM Narendra Modi is scheduled for 6.30 pm on Monday at the prime minister's official residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.

During his three-day visit, JD Vance will travel to Jaipur on Tuesday, April 22. On Wednesday, April 23, the US vice president will go to Agra. On Thursday, Vance will departure for the US. During his India visit, JD Vance will be discussing economy, trade and geopolitical ties with India during a meeting with PM Modi.

India's foreign ministry has said the visit will “provide an opportunity for both sides to review the progress in bilateral relations” and two leaders will “exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.”
