‘Safest country in the world’: Woman leaves gold jewellery on BMW bonnet in Dubai; Here’s what happens next

In a recent video, which has gone viral, an influencer Leyla Afshonkar left gold jewellery on the bonnet of a BMW in a busy street in Dubai. What happens next has left netizens in awe of the country.

Afshonkar placed her gold necklace and earrings on the bonnet of a car and went inside a nearby shop, as a part of a social experiment.

Interestingly, pedestrians walked past the car without paying much attention to the jewellery.

Even after half an hour, the gold jewellery remained as it was.

The influencer then says in the Instagram video, "It's been half an hour, and literally no one has touched the gold. And tell me Dubai is not the safest country in the world."

The video has garnered over 11 lakh likes and 15,000 comments. Most netizens have praised Dubai's sense of security.

Here's how netizens reacted:

"Only in Dubai can you leave gold out in the open and expect it to be there when you return!" One Instagram user commented.

Another added, "This is why Dubai is unmatched—respect and discipline everywhere."

"They adhere to the Prophet’s teachings: If someone steals another person’s belongings, the rule states that their hands should be cut off," another user said.

However, some people also expressed their doubts about the authenticity of the video.

"The camera angle makes it seem like people knew they were being filmed," a person said.

Another said, "How do we know this wasn’t staged? It seems too perfect."

To be clear, the influencer has tagged a brand named Vanzo Jewellery in her video. This means it could have been a collaboration.

Some people also talked about doing this experiment in India.

"Try in India you won't even find the car too," a person wrote, garnering over 19,000 likes on this comment also.

"In India u won't get that gold and bmw again," another said.
