Kate Middleton's change in demeanour during the 'Together At Christmas' Carol Service on Friday has been linked with a significant shift in her life by a body language expert.
Among the first senior royals to reach the annual Christmas Carol service at Westminster Abbey in London, the 42-year-old princess skipped leaving a message at the "kindness tree", but this year, her body language had a lot to suggest.
According to body language expert Judi James, speaking to The Mirror UK, Kate appeared to have "changed her body language rituals" and even seemed to mimic the King.
Beginning with the princess's arrival, Judi noted that Kate entered the annual royal event with a "radiant" smile as she established herself as the "leader of the event".
“Kate's smile on her lone arrival was classic Kate, a radiant, perfect Duchenne smile that threw a warm and grateful-looking connecting tie-sign to the fans outside,” the Mirror reported quoting Judi.
The body language expert highlighted that the princess was not carrying a bag at this event, suggesting “confidence” as she has at times used her bags as barriers when she has been feeling vulnerable.
“Here she just touched the fingers of both hands together or gesticulated as she spoke to again suggest confidence and to define her role as leader of this event,” she said.
Upon her arrival at the service, the expert observed a different “dimension” of Kate Middleton's demeanor; one when the princess was attending the event with fellow cancer survivors, and the other when she was greeting the guests inside.
“She has always been politely animated but here she was much more openly expressive and emotional with her facial expressions,” Judi added saying this was a very moving service for Kate.
Judi said, at one point during the service, Kate appeared to mirror King Charles. “At one point she even seemed to be mirroring her father-in-law, arching her back slightly and performing the kind of playful chuckle that is Charles's signature look when he is meeting guests.”
