Toronto plane crash: The Delta Airlines plane carrying 80 flipped upside down on the snowy ground after crashing while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport. A footage taken by a survivor onboard is going viral on social media. The footage shows a harrowing scene inside the cabin, with a female passenger seen upside down in her seat following the crash.

"My plane crashed I'm upside down," the survisor said in the video.

The video then shows a frightening passenger outside the plane who is heard saying, “I was in a plane crash. O My God.”

The accident happened at about 2:15 pm and flights at the airport, which handles more passengers than any other Canadian airport, were grounded for around two and half hours.

In another video, a Facebook user named John Nelson posted a video from the tarmac which showed the overturned aircraft.

What led to the crash?

While issuing a press statement, the FAA said, “All 80 people on board were evacuated." The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will be in charge of the investigation and will provide any updates."

The Toronto Pearson also took to their social media and said that the cause of the plane crash is currently under investigation and being led by the Transportation Safety Board.

It also added, “A total of 18 injured passengers were transported to hospitals. The 17 injured passengers were transported immediately, the other injured passenger was transported after the others.”

A massive snow storm hit eastern Canada on Sunday. Strong winds and bone-chilling temperatures was felt in Toronto on Monday when airlines added flights to make up for weekend cancellations due to the storm.

"The snow has stopped coming down, but frigid temperatures and high winds are moving in," the airport warned earlier, adding that it was "expecting a busy day in our terminals with over 130,000 travellers on board around 1,000 flights."
