Republic Day 2025 LIVE: Beating Retreat ceremony marks the end of Republic Day festivities and is held at Vijay Chowk on January 29 evening, three days after Republic Day.

Beating Retreat ceremony will feature a musical performance by the bands of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Delhi Police, and the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), Ministry of defence said. “The ceremony is presided over by the President of India, who is the supreme commander of the Armed Forces. The beating retreat ceremony in India was first held in 1950s, during the state visit of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip,” the official website states.

Republic Day 2025 LIVE: Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory regarding the rehearsals for January 29 Beating Retreat ceremony. The event on Wednesday will mark the conclusion of the Republic Day celebrations. The advisory suggests that Vijay Chowk, the venue for Beating Retreat, will be closed to general traffic between 2 pm and 9:30 pm on both Monday and Tuesday (January 27 and 28).

Republic Day 2025 LIVE: Punjab police said on Sunday that they have arrested a "few miscreants" for allegedly attempting to tamper with the statue of BR Ambedkar in Amritsar's Town Hall area. Jagjit Singh Walia, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police in Amritsar, said that a case has been registered after making some arrests.

"A few miscreants tried to tamper with BR Ambedkar's statue at Town hall. We caught them and a case has been registered and an investigation is going on. The motive behind the incident is yet to be found out...," Walia told ANI

The performance titled ‘Jayati Jaya Mamaḧ Bharatam’ saw participants from different part of the country. To offer all guests the same viewing experience, the performance covered the entire Kartavya Path for the first time - from Vijay Chowk to C hexagon.

Republic Day 2025 LIVE: Indian Army's robotic dogs 'MULE' (Multi Utility Legged Equipment), named ‘Sanjay,’ grabbed eyeballs at the Republic Day parade in Kolkata on Sunday. Notably, 'Sanjay' is an all-weather ground robot dog that can climb stairs, steep hills, and cross hurdles, NDTV reported.

The robot dog can perform several operations, including perimeter security, asset protection, and chemical-biological-nuclear warfare scenarios, according to the Indian Army.

Republic Day 2025 LIVE: President Droupadi Murmu and her Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto arrived at Kartavya Path in Delhi in the traditional horse-drawn ‘buggy’ on January 26. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who graced the 76th Republic Day as the chief guest, was escorted in the ‘buggy’ for Republic Day festivities for the second time in almost 40 years. 

In 1984, the buggy was discontinued, but last year it made its appearance again when President Murmu and her French counterpart Emmanuel Macron were brought to Kartavya Path for the parade in the traditional vehicle.

Republic Day 2025 LIVE: A Tri-services tableau made first time appearance on Kartavya Path on Sunday. Based on the theme ‘Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat’, the tableau depicted a ‘Joint Operations Room’ facilitating networking and communication among the three Services.
