Mumbai Rains LIVE Updates: A team of 25 NDRF personnel has entered the city of Pimpri Chinchwad with advanced equipment to deal with emergencies. The IMD had issued a red alert for the entire Pune district.

“We have enough equipment to deal with flood or building collapse incidents. A team of 25 members is here on standby. Two teams are on standby at the headquarters, which is 13-14 km away from here,” says Jwala Das, who is leading the 25-member NDRF team.

Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Middle Vaitarna Reservoir, a key water supplier for Mumbai, started overflowing at 2:45 am today, August 4.

Two gates of the dam have been opened by 10 centimetres, with water being discharged at a rate of 706.30 cusecs. 

“Discharge increased from Khadakwasla towards Pune City. Ongoing discharge from Khadakwasla Dam will be increased by 29,414 cusecs by 11 AM. This will bring Total Discharge to 35,002 cusecs. Stay safe, Punekars,” Mumbai Rains wrote on X.

Pune, Maharashtra: MNS chief Raj Thackeray arrived at the flood-affected area in Ekta Nagar.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray says, "Yesterday I met Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde in Mumbai ...we discussed about the rainfall situation and illegal activities around Mutha River and the riverfront development project. He has sanctioned ₹10 lakh each to the next kin of two victims who died during the flood last week..."

“Flood Alert for Pune! Rivers in Pune are swelling due to increased water release from dams! More heavy rains ahead for the day amidst non-stop heavy rain since morning. IMD has issued a Red Alert for Pune. Please stay safe, Punekars,” Mumbai Rains wrote on X. 

Pune, Maharashtra: Water entered the basement parking of Dwarka building in Ekta Nagar as the water level rose in the Mutha River. Army Personnel and the Pune Fire Brigade present at the spot.

In response to continuous heavy rainfall and the release of excess water from the Khadakwasla Dam, an Army column has been deployed in the Ekta Nagar area at the request of the District Magistrate. The column consists of about 100 personnel, including engineers and medical staff, equipped with necessary vehicles and supplies: Indian Army

“Water levels in Mumbai are at 89.10%! It has rained quite heavily in catchment areas yesterday, the same pattern today as well. More heavy rains today may cross 92-93% in the upcoming 24 hours,” Mumbai Rains wrote on X.

Mumbai Rains LIVE Updates: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued high tide alert. “Moderate rain in City and Suburbs. Possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places. High Tide - 11:47 hrs – 4.28 meter, 23:37 hrs – 3.66 meter. Low Tide - 17:52 hrs – 1.70 meter, 05:38 hrs (04.08.2024)– 0.75 meter," the civic body posted on X.
