Hotel Dwarkamai in Nagpur received a bomb threat via email, leading to the deployment of Bomb Squad and Police teams to investigate the situation

Maharashtra: Hotel Dwarkamai in the Ganeshpeth Colony area of Nagpur received a bomb threat via e-mail on Monday. Dog squad and city police are currently at the site, investigating the matter.

Fire brigades have also been dispatched to the area, stated reports.

The police officials cordoned off the area, and evacuated the hotel premises before the investigation. As of now, ‘nothing suspicious’ has been found at the site, stated the Nagpur police DCP.

"A bomb threat mail was received at Hotel Dwarkamai in the Ganeshpeth Colony area of Nagpur. Police immediately reached the spot and we evacuated all the inmates. A detailed search has been conducted by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and we have not found anything suspicious," said Rahul Maknikar, Nagpur police DCP, reported TOI.

Bomb threats in Delhi schools

In other news, at least 40 schools in Delhi, including GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar, DPS RK Puram, British School received bomb threats via e-mail on Monday. The sender of the mail demanded 30,000 dollars, stating that the bombs would detonate if the money was not given.

According to a report by News 18, the IP address for the mail was traced to New York's Utica. A proxy server was used to send the mail, stated reports.

The bomb threat email sent on December 8 read: “I planted multiple bombs (lead azide, explosive compound used in detonators) inside the building. I planted multiple bombs inside the building. The bombs are small and hidden very well. It will not cause very much damage to the building, but many people will be injured when the bombs detonate. You all deserve to suffer and lose limbs. If I do not receive USD 30,000, I will detonate the bombs.”

The schools suspended the classes and students were sent back home. Police officials said that nothing suspicious has been found yet and search operations are underway.
