International Yoga Day 2024 Live: British Deputy High Commissioner Christina Scott on Friday said, “ It was really a good session led by Dr S Jaishankar and I had the privilege to join him...it is India's gift to the world and it was really a pleasure to be here today,” reported ANI.

International Yoga Day 2024 Live: While addressing the masses at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, PM Modi said, “In the last 10 years, the expansion of Yoga has changed the perception related to Yoga. Today, the world is seeing a new Yoga economy going forward. From Rishikesh and Kashi to Kerala, we can witness a new trend of Yoga Tourism emerging in India. ”

He added, “People from all over the world are coming to India in pursuit of learning authentic yoga. Accordingly, sectors related to hospitality, tourism, apparel, etc. are booming from the huge inflow of people. This is creating new avenues for employment opportunities for youth.”

International Yoga Day 2024 Live: President Droupadi Murmu took to social media platform X to mark International Yoga Day.  

Her post reads, “Greetings to the entire global community, especially the fellow citizens of India on International Yoga Day! Yoga is India's unique gift to humanity. In view of rising lifestyle related problems, Yoga has become far more important today.”

She added, "Yoga is a way to physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Let us resolve to adopt yoga as an integral part of our day-to-day living,"

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on on the occasion of International Yoga Day said that the government will establish 51 ‘Yoga Studios’ across the state to promote the ancient practice which “benefited people immensely” during COVID.

He said, “This year, we are planning to establish 51 state-run Yoga Studios to provide a one-stop health solution to the people. Gujarat government is committed to taking yoga to every corner of the state,” reported PTI.

International Yoga Day 2024 Live: PM Modi on Friday said, “We can feel the energy in Srinagar, that we gain through Yoga. I extend greetings to people of the country and people performing Yoga in every corner of the world on Yoga Day,” reported ANI.

He added, "International Yoga Day has completed a historic journey of 10 years. In 2014, I proposed International Yoga Day at the United Nations. This proposal by India was supported by 177 nations and this was a record in itself. Since then, Yoga Day has been creating new records."

International Yoga Day 2024 Live: Rainfall early on Friday morning disrupted the International Yoga Day events in Kashmir. The region affected includes Dal Lake's banks where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to lead the celebrations, according to officials. The main yoga event at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) had to commence at 6:30 AM.

International Yoga Day 2024 Live: Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy congratulated PM Modi for "showcasing India to the world through yoga" on the occasion of the 10th International Yoga Day.

He took to social media platform X and stated, "Yoga is a precious art of living that has flourished in this holy land as a legacy. Combining health and spirituality, yoga has become a global life-enhancer."

The post adds, “In 2014, yoga gained top recognition at the United Nations, thanks to the efforts of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Avaru. Since 2015, International Yoga Day has been celebrated worldwide on June 21 every year. I heartily congratulate Mr. Modi for showcasing India to the world through yoga.”
