Iconic Hollywood star Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 63, alongside their pet dog were found dead at their New Mexico house, as per the latest update. According to a report of Santa Fe New Mexican, their bodies were discovered by Santa Fe County police on Wednesday afternoon. 

The news has been confirmed by Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza. Police have ruled out foul play.

However, the cause of death still remains unknown. The timeline of the couple’s passing also remains unclear.

Gene Hackman lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico since the 1980s. He married pianist Betsy Arakawa in 1991.

An ‘active investigation’ into the deaths is currently underway, as reported by The Press Association.

How did Gene Hackman die

On Wednesday afternoon, Sheriff's Deputies reached at a home in the gated community of Old Sunset Trail to investigate the deaths of an elderly couple and a dog. It is not known whether they were responding to a report of the deaths or conducting a welfare check.

The Deputies found the bodies of a man in his 90s along with a woman in her 60s, as per the initial report of the Sheriff.
