‘Beti jawan ho gayi hai…’: Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja denies divorce rumours, explains living apart from actor

Bollywood actor Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja has rejected divorce rumours and explained the reason why she is living apart from her husband.

Govinda is active in politics and several party workers keep visiting his office, the couple decided live in different houses for their grown up daughter, Sunita Ahuja was heard as saying in the video.

“Ab jab beti jawan ho gayi hai, hum ghar mein aaram se shorts pehen kar ghoomte hain, isliye humne samne hi ek office le liya tha. Agar is duniya mein koi mai ka laal mujhe aur Govinda ko alag kar sakta hai, toh samne aakar dikhaye (Our daughter has grown up now, I wander around the house peacefully in shorts, which is why we took an office space near our house. If there's anyone who can separate me and Govinda, please come forward),” Times of India quoted Ahuja as saying in a video which is allegedly going viral online.

Govinda heading for a divorce with Sunita Ahuja?

Rumours of Sunita Ahuja and Govinda heading for a divorce has gone viral on social media after the actor's wife revealed that they have been living in separate houses.

The divorce rumours between the actor and his wife got fuelled further as she revealed that she has been spending her birthdays alone for the last 12 years.

Lawyer confirms report

Amid the rumours of the alleged divorce, Govinda and Sunita Ahuja's lawyer and family friend Lalit Bindal had earlier said that the couple had filed for divorce six months ago. He however assured that things are fine now.

Bindal further said that the couple had even taken a trip to Nepal together during the New Year and performed a puja at the Pashupati Nath Mandir, explaining that these kinds of ups and downs are common in a marriage.

He also criticised the misinterpretation of Sunita Ahuja's comments by the social media, when she said she did not want a husband like him. Bindal said that what Sunita meant was that she wanted a son like Govinda.

Dismissing the rumours, Bindal confirmed that there were no divorce proceedings going on between the couple.
