Veteran actor Anupam Kher congratulated Kangana Ranaut on her anticipated victory. On Tuesday, Anupam shared a video on his X account featuring Kangana with the song "Jugni" from her National Award-winning film "Queen" playing in the background.

Kangana posted a heartfelt note on Instagram, stating that "the victory belongs to the people of Mandi."

"We fought this election in the name of Narendra Modi. It is the result of his credibility and his guarantee and the faith of people in him that we are going to form the government for the third time..."

Kangana Ranaut, who made her polling debut with Lok Sabha elections 2024, has won by 72,088 votes from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi, defeating Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh.

Reacting to rival Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh, the 37-year-old Bollywood star said that Singh might have to ‘pack his bags and leave’ at this point.

BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut is heading towards victory in her electoral debut, by securing 478,949 votes in the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh. She is running against Congress' Vikramaditya Singh, who is making his first attempt at a parliamentary seat.

“Mandi has not taken kindly to the insults for daughters. As far as my departure to Mumbai is concerned, this (Himachal Pradesh) is my 'janmabhoomi' and I will continue to serve people here...So, I am not going anywhere. Perhaps, someone else will have to pack their bags and leave. I am not going anywhere,” actor turned politician told news agency ANI.

Vikramaditya Singh of Congress is heir of the Rampur royal family and son of late Virbhadra Singh, a six-time Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.

The Mandi Lok Sabha seat, previously a Congress stronghold, shifted towards the BJP in the last two elections. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Ram Swaroop Sharma defeated Congress's Pratibha Singh, a former two-time MP, by a margin of 39,000 votes. In the 2019 elections, Ram Swaroop Sharma retained the seat with a significant margin, receiving 647,189 votes.

As per the EC website, BJP's Kangana continued her lead by a margin of 44,477 votes (with 3,20,863 votes) while Congress' Vikramaditya Singh was trailing with 2,76,386 votes.
