Notably, the exit polls were split, with many predicting an NDA victory in the state. Jharkhand voted in two phases for 81 assembly constituencies — the first day was November 13, and the second day was November 20. The state saw 67.74 per cent voter turnout in the two phases of elections, its highest turnout since the state was formed in 2000.
The JMM alliance includes the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Indian National Congress (Congress), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist). The NDA comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party, the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United), and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).

He added, “This victory of the alliance in the state is a victory for the protection of water, forest and land, along with that of the Constitution.”

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Speaking to ANI, CPI leader D Raja said the INDIA bloc will form the government in Jharkhand after the assembly elections. He added that people were “not convinced” by the BJP.
"These are all early trends... As far as Jharkhand is concerned, JMM, Congress, and its allies are sure to form the government. Let us wait for the final outcome and the verdict of the people… The people of Jharkhand are not at all convinced by the campaign unleashed by the BJP and its leaders. The way they were raising the issue of infiltration and corruption could not convince the people of Jharkhand. If infiltration is the issue, then who should be held responsible other than the Union Government...They must be held responsible if there is infiltration," he added.
Jharkhand Election Results Live: According to the Election Commission (EC) trends at 1 pm today, the JMM-led INDIA bloc is maintaining its lead in the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
The CM Hemant Soren-led party has emerged as the biggest winner, leading in 31 seats, followed by alliance partner Congress in 14, RJD in 4 seats, and CPI (M-L) in 2. The group has thus crossed the majority mark in the state, leading in a total of 51 assembly seats.
Among the opposition, the BJP is leading in 26 seats, while other alliance partners lead in 1 seat each.
One independent candidate is also leading from Panki assembly seat.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: This election is primarily a two-way fight between the JMM-led INDIA bloc and the BJP-led NDA.
We take a look at what the exit polls predicted:
- Axis My India’s Pradeep Gupta predicted 53 seats for India bloc, 25 for BJP-led NDA, and 3 for other parties.
- Peoples Pulse gave the edge to the BJP, predicting 42-48 seats for the saffron party, AJSU 2-5, Congress 8-14, JMM 16-23, and others 6-10.
- Times Now also predicted an outcome favourable to the NDA, with 40-44 seats, while allowing 30-40 to INDIA and 1 for other parties.
Jharkhand Election Results Live: Speaking to PTI, Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar said women in the state "are politically aware and actively participate in the polling process". "In the first phase, we saw a higher female turnout, and in the second phase, women’s participation was about 2.5 lakh higher than their male counterparts," he added.
According to data from the state electoral rolls, women outnumbered men in 32 of Jharkhand's 81 assembly constituencies, including those of Chief Minister Hemant Soren (Barhait) and former CM Champai Soren (Seraikela).
Political observers suggest that the high migration rate in the state may explain the lower male turnout, as per the report.

Alliance leader JMM is ahead in 20 seats, Congress in 10, RJD in 5 seats, and CPI (M-L) in 3, taking the total to 38.
Meanwhile, the BJP is coasting solo, leading in 21 seats, with other alliance partners leading in 1 seat each. Trends are out for 62 out of 81 assembly seats till 10.10 am.
Jharkhand Election Results Live: Data from the EC showed that of the 81 assembly constituencies in Jharkhand, women voters outnumbered men in around 68 across both phases of the state elections, PTI reported.
Overall, 2024 voter turnout in Jharkhand was 67.74 per cent — 1.65 per cent higher than in 2019. Of the 2.61 crore registered voters (including 1.29 crore women). Further, 1.76 crore voters cast their ballots, including 91.1 lakh women who exercised their franchise, compared to the 5.52 lakh men who showed up, EC said.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Speaking to PTI, an EC official said that the counting process will be "transparent ... under full glare of the media and candidates or their agents". He added that stakeholders are "encouraged to keep a close watch on the process".
"Strong rooms have been fortified with adequate security and video surveillance to ensure complete transparency in the counting process ... trends will start coming from 9-9:15 am," the official added.
Jharkhand Election Results Live: With the counting of postal ballots having started at 8 am, early trends for the Jharkhand assembly election results 2024 are expected to start trickling in by 9-9.15 am, according to a PTI report.
As per an Election Commission official, “elaborate arrangements” have been made at all counting centres. Observers have been appointed and each table will be headed by an ARO to ensure fairness.
