Jharkhand Election Results Live: JMM leader Ramdas Soren said, "First of all, I would like to thank the people of Jharkhand for making the INDIA alliance win," reported PTI.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Chief Minster Hemant Soren led JMM-alliance secured decisive victory in 81-member Jharkhand assembly. INDIA bloc secured 56 seats, NDA won 24 seats while Others won one.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren-led JMM coalition secured a majority in the 81-member assembly on November 23. This marks first in 24 years as the state had witnessed anti-incumbency until the recent polls.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for congratulating the JMM-led alliance for their win in the state, CM Hemant Soren said, "I want to thank PM Modi also for his best wishes to us (on winning the elections)," reported ANI.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Congress' Naman Bixal Kongari won against BJP's Sujan Jojo by a wide margin of 37,031 votes in Kolebira seat.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Congress incharge for the state, Ghulam Ahmad Mir said, “Tomorrow is the Congress Legislative Party meeting in which the newly elected MLAs will be present. The meeting will be held in meeting,” reported ANI. 

He added, "There will be one more meeting of the alliance partners...After the meeting, further decisions will be taken."

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Lok Janshakti Party's Janardhan Paswan won in Chatra seat by a margin of 18,401 votes.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday thanked the voters of the state for their support and all the party workers for their hard work. “Heartfelt thanks to the people of Jharkhand for giving a huge mandate to INDIA. Hearty congratulations and best wishes to Chief Minister Hemant Sorenji, all the workers of the Congress and the JMM for this victory,” PTI quoted Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha as saying.

He added, “This victory of the alliance in the state is a victory for the protection of water, forest and land, along with that of the Constitution.”

Jharkhand Election Results Live: After INDIA bloc's clean sweep in election results, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren said, “Today the results of the #JharkhandAssemblyElection2024 have come...I want to thank the people of all communities and all the farmers, women and youth of the state for casting their votes with the majority and making this election successful," reported ANI. 
He said that the party is waiting for the complete result after which further decisions will be made.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who sought re-election from Barhait assembly seat, emerged victorious on Saturday. The sitting MLA, who was pitted against BJP candidate Gamliyel Hembrom, won by a margin of 39,791 votes.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren's brother and JMM candidate Basant Soren emerged victorious in Dumka assembly seat by a margin of 14,588 votes, logging in 95,685 votes. Meanwhile, BJP candidate Sunil Soren, who stood second, managed to secure 81,097 votes, according to the Election Commission. 

Jharkhand Election Results Live: PM Modi congratulated JMM-led alliance over its overwhelming performance in Jharkhand. 

PM Modi in a post on X said, “I thank the people of Jharkhand for their support towards us. We will always be at the forefront of raising people’s issues and working for the state. I also congratulate the JMM-led alliance for their performance in the state. @HemantSorenJMM.”

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) workers congratulated CM Hemant Soren's wife, Kalpana Soren on leading from Gandey constituency. She is leading by a margin of 13,056 votes. "I want to thank the people of Gandhey, Giridih and the people of the state for showering love on me and blessing me like their daughter," ANI quoted Kalpana Soren as saying.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Trends at 2:40 pm show the INDIA bloc maintaining its lead in the 81 assembly seats, with CM Hemant Soren-led JMM taking the lead in 33 seats, Congress in 17, RJD in 5 seats, and CPI (M-L) in 2, making the alliance cross the majority mark with 56 seats. Meanwhile, the BJP is coasting solo, leading in 24 seats, with other alliance partners leading in 1 seat each. Trends are out for all 81 assembly seats till now.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: The JMM-led INDIA bloc is leaping ahead of rivals in at least 55 seats combined while NDA is trailing with 25 seats. JMM is the single party leading in most seats — 33.

Overall, INDIA bloc leader JMM is ahead in 33 seats, Congress in 16, RJD in 5 seats, CPI (M-L) in 1, taking the alliance total to 55.

Meanwhile, the BJP is coasting solo, leading in 25 seats, with other alliance partners leading in 1 or 2 seats each. One independent candidate is also leading from a seat. Trends are out for all 81 assembly seats as of 2:10 pm.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Speaking to ANI, CPI leader D Raja said the INDIA bloc will form the government in Jharkhand after the assembly elections. He added that people were “not convinced” by the BJP.

"These are all early trends... As far as Jharkhand is concerned, JMM, Congress, and its allies are sure to form the government. Let us wait for the final outcome and the verdict of the people… The people of Jharkhand are not at all convinced by the campaign unleashed by the BJP and its leaders. The way they were raising the issue of infiltration and corruption could not convince the people of Jharkhand. If infiltration is the issue, then who should be held responsible other than the Union Government...They must be held responsible if there is infiltration," he added.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: According to the Election Commission (EC) trends at 1 pm today, the JMM-led INDIA bloc is maintaining its lead in the Jharkhand Assembly elections.

The CM Hemant Soren-led party has emerged as the biggest winner, leading in 31 seats, followed by alliance partner Congress in 14, RJD in 4 seats, and CPI (M-L) in 2. The group has thus crossed the majority mark in the state, leading in a total of 51 assembly seats.

Among the opposition, the BJP is leading in 26 seats, while other alliance partners lead in 1 seat each. 

One independent candidate is also leading from Panki assembly seat.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has delivered big in Jharkhand, leading in five of the six seats it contested in the state assembly elections, according to a PTI report. 

• Deoghar: RJD’s Suresh Paswan leading by 19,581 votes over BJP's sitting MLA Narayan Das.
• Godda: RJD’s Sanjay Prasad Yadav leading by 19,867 votes over BJP MLA Amit Kumar Mandal.
• Koderma: RJD's Subhash Prasad Yadav leading 3,471 votes over BJP’s sitting MLA Neera Yadav.
• Bishrampur: RJD's Naresh Prasad Singh leading by 5,159 votes over BJP sitting MLA Ramchandra Chandravanshi.
• Hussainabad: RJD's Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav leading by 8,213 votes against BJP MLA Kamlesh Kumar Singh.
• Chatra: RJD’s candidate Rashmi Prakash trailing by 3,776 votes.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Congress' Jharkhand in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir told ANI expects the party's seat tally to increase by another 5-6 from the current 14 seats lead by end of count today.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Trends at 11.30 am indicated a positive outcome for the INDIA bloc, with JMM taking the lead in 29 seats, Congress in 14, RJD in 5 seats, CPI (M-L) in 1. The alliance total is now close to the majority mark at 49. 

Meanwhile, the BJP is coasting solo, leading in 27 seats, with other alliance partners leading in 1 seat each. EC trends were out for all 81 assembly seats at 11 am today. No winner have been declared yet.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: This election is primarily a two-way fight between the JMM-led INDIA bloc and the BJP-led NDA.

We take a look at what the exit polls predicted:

- Axis My India’s Pradeep Gupta predicted 53 seats for India bloc, 25 for BJP-led NDA, and 3 for other parties.

- Peoples Pulse gave the edge to the BJP, predicting 42-48 seats for the saffron party, AJSU 2-5, Congress 8-14, JMM 16-23, and others 6-10.

- Times Now also predicted an outcome favourable to the NDA, with 40-44 seats, while allowing 30-40 to INDIA and 1 for other parties.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Speaking to PTI, Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar said women in the state "are politically aware and actively participate in the polling process". "In the first phase, we saw a higher female turnout, and in the second phase, women’s participation was about 2.5 lakh higher than their male counterparts," he added.

According to data from the state electoral rolls, women outnumbered men in 32 of Jharkhand's 81 assembly constituencies, including those of Chief Minister Hemant Soren (Barhait) and former CM Champai Soren (Seraikela).

Political observers suggest that the high migration rate in the state may explain the lower male turnout, as per the report.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: The election commission's early trends for the Jharkhand assembly elections 2024 show the INDIA bloc leaping ahead of the competition.

Alliance leader JMM is ahead in 20 seats, Congress in 10, RJD in 5 seats, and CPI (M-L) in 3, taking the total to 38. 

Meanwhile, the BJP is coasting solo, leading in 21 seats, with other alliance partners leading in 1 seat each. Trends are out for 62 out of 81 assembly seats till 10.10 am.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Data from the EC showed that of the 81 assembly constituencies in Jharkhand, women voters outnumbered men in around 68 across both phases of the state elections, PTI reported.

Overall, 2024 voter turnout in Jharkhand was 67.74 per cent — 1.65 per cent higher than in 2019. Of the 2.61 crore registered voters (including 1.29 crore women). Further, 1.76 crore voters cast their ballots, including 91.1 lakh women who exercised their franchise, compared to the 5.52 lakh men who showed up, EC said.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: Speaking to PTI, an EC official said that the counting process will be "transparent ... under full glare of the media and candidates or their agents". He added that stakeholders are "encouraged to keep a close watch on the process".

"Strong rooms have been fortified with adequate security and video surveillance to ensure complete transparency in the counting process ... trends will start coming from 9-9:15 am," the official added.

Jharkhand Election Results Live: With the counting of postal ballots having started at 8 am, early trends for the Jharkhand assembly election results 2024 are expected to start trickling in by 9-9.15 am, according to a PTI report.

As per an Election Commission official, “elaborate arrangements” have been made at all counting centres. Observers have been appointed and each table will be headed by an ARO to ensure fairness.

Jharkhand Election Results 2024 Live: The elections were held in two phases – November 13 and 20. The first phase covered 43 constituencies out of the total 81 seats, while the second phase saw voting in 38 seats. As many as 528 candidates contested the second phase of the Jharkhand elections, including 55 women, one third-gender candidate, and 472 male candidates.

Among the "incumbent" INDIA bloc, JMM had 43 in the fray, the Congress had 30, RJD had 6, and the CPI(ML) had 4. From the challengers NDA, the BJP saw 68 in the fray, the AJSU had 10, JD(U) had 2, and LJP had 1 candidate contesting.

In the previous assembly election, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, the BJP won 25, and Congress won 16 seats.

Jharkhand Election Results 2024 Live: Prominent candidates in the fray included Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his wife Kalpana Soren, and his sister-in-law Sita Soren from the JMM.

Key BJP leaders in the second phase included former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, Assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto (JMM), AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto, and Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri.

Jharkhand Election Results 2024 Live: The Election Commission of India (EC) has begun counting votes of the Jharkhand assembly elections from 8 am.

According to officials, early trends from the voting are likely to be known by 9 am, PTI reported.

Jharkhand had voting in two phases for a total of 81 assembly constituencies.

Jharkhand Election Results 2024 Live: Varun Ranjan, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Ranchi, told ANI that all arrangements have been made and officials are briefed about the counting process and do's and don'ts.

"We have also explained them scenarios like if there is data missmatch in EVMs, if data is not coming on EVMs, then what they have to do. They have also been told how to count postal ballots," he said.

The NDA comprises of Bharatiya Janata Party, the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United), and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).
