Delhi Election Result Key Highlights: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took a jibe at the Congress and AAP after BJP's win in Delhi Assembly elections. 

Taking to social media platform X, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah sated, “Aur lado aapas mein!!! (Keep on fighting each other).”

The oldest party in the country is not able to get even one seat in the national capital for the last six times. They are giving the gold medal of defeat to themselves," ANI quoted him as saying.

"Today again the people have given a message to Congress. Congress has hit a double hattrick of 'zero' in Delhi elections. The oldest party in the country is not able to get even one seat in the national capital for the last six times. They are giving the gold medal of defeat to themselves," ANI quoted PM Modi as saying.

The political currency of Parvesh Verma has skyrocketed after his stupendous victory over AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal — positioning him as a potential claimant to the top post.

The BJP winners also included several experienced senior leaders who, according to party leaders, also remain in the race for the chief ministerial post, 

"These include Ashish Sood and former state general secretary (organisation) Pawan Sharma," a top BJP functionary in Delhi told PTI.

PM Modi said he listened to Anna Hazare statement and added that AAP was born out of the movement against corruption but got involved in it.

“The party born out of the movement against corruption got involved in corruption. It became such a party of the country whose Chief Minister and Ministers went to jail on corruption charges. Those who used to give themselves certificates of honesty, turned out to be corrupt. This was a big betrayal with Delhi,” Modi said.

Sandeep Dikshit, the Congress candidate from New Delhi assembly constituency, on Saturday congratulated BJP's Parvesh Verma for winning the seat by defeating three-time sitting MLA and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal.

Dikshit, whose mother Sheila Dikshit was a three-time chief minister of Delhi who also represented the seat, took to X to congratulate Verma.

"Congratulations for your splendid victory from New Delhi," he wrote in Hindi.

New Delhi was billed as a high profile seat where Dikshit was locked in a direct contest with Kejriwal and Verma.

"Under PM Modi's leadership, we are very keen that Delhi gets a government which serves its people and this is something which is the need of the hour for attaining Viksit Bharat 2047," the finance minister told a press conference.

"The National Capital Region should have a government which serves the cause of the people. I strongly believe that the roadmap which the PM has set for the country should certainly take Delhi to the top priority and serve its people from every point of view...," she added.

Delhi Election Result Key Highlights: Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal lost the New Delhi assembly seat to BJP's Parvesh Verma by a margin of 4089 votes
