"Rahul Gandhi is an entitled dynast and an immature leader who does not have any grace especially when he loses...Rahul Gandhi is accusing the election commission and the entire electoral process because he has lost the elections in Haryana and he can't come to terms with it," Poonawala said in a self-made video.

After J-K National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah announced that party Vice President Omar Abdullah would be the next Chief Minister, the newly-elected MLA Omar said on Wednesday that the decision ultimately lies with legislators and the alliance.

"I am very grateful for the confidence that he (Farooq Abdullah) has reposed in me. But that decision is of the legislators to make. It is a decision of the alliance to make. I love my father dearly and I am very grateful for the support that he showed me yesterday but finally the say has to be of the legislators and I am always one to do things by the rules and by the book. This is the procedure that has to be followed and that is what will be done," he said.

Aam Aadmi Party National spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar on Wednesday said that the party would be contesting the Delhi assembly elections alone.

Speaking to ANI, Kakkar said "We will contest the Delhi Assembly elections alone. On one side it's the overconfident Congress and on the other side, it is the arrogant Bharatiya Janata Party. We will keep our head down and let our work done in the last 10 years speak for itself."

Had there been a proper discussion...so that anti-incumbency votes would have been polarised towards Congress and we would have won in a good way. Still, I am not able to digest this loss because we were 100% expecting the victory in Haryana. In J&K, it happened exactly as it had to be. So, we hope that in the upcoming Jharkhand and Maharashtra elections, Congress will perform the best and we will learn the lessons day by day...I and also worried that BJP wants to stay in power, they always manipulate things..."

Elections results Live: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) celebrated its debut in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, with leader Arvind Kejriwal congratulating the party for opening its account in its fifth state. Mehraj Malik, a District Development Council member, won against BJP’s Gajay Singh Rana in Doda, polling 23,228 votes to Rana's 18,690 votes.

The NC scored big, winning 42 out of the 51 seats it contested, while the Congress secured 6 of the 32 seats it fielded. The BJP emerged as the second-largest party with 29 seats, an improvement from its previous high of 25 seats in the 2014 elections. Despite focusing on its stronghold in the Jammu region, J&K BJP chief Ravinder Raina lost his Nowshera assembly seat. Independents secured 7 seats, and the PDP managed to win 3 seats, with Iltija Mufti, daughter of party president Mehbooba Mufti, among the notable losses.

Elections results Live: Party insiders believe that overconfidence, factionalism, and an excessive reliance on a single community significantly hindered the Congress in the recent Haryana assembly elections. 

After a decade out of power, the party aimed to make a strong comeback but faced a shocking defeat. Despite viewing Haryana as a key target due to a decade of anti-incumbency and previous gains in the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress fell short of its goal.

In Haryana, the Congress secured over 39 percent of the vote share, with the margin between them and the BJP being less than one percent. 

However, this was not enough to unseat the BJP, which is now poised to form a government for an unprecedented third consecutive term in the state.

Elections results Live: When Nayab Singh Saini, a relatively inexperienced leader, took over from Manohar Lal Khattar as Chief Minister of Haryana in March, the BJP aimed to inject fresh energy into a party unit grappling with a decade of anti-incumbency. Although the Lok Sabha elections posed a challenge, with the BJP's seats dropping from ten to five, Wednesday’s results demonstrated that the party's gamble on Saini was successful.

As an OBC representative, Saini left no stone unturned to ensure the BJP secured a third consecutive term in the state. 

His government focused on outreach efforts directed toward the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Scheduled Castes (SCs), responding to a perceived consolidation of Jat support behind the Congress party.

Declaring himself as the party's CM face ahead of the results, Saini crafted a campaign centered on government jobs, emphasizing that the BJP was providing positions “on merit.” 

He criticized the previous Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led administration for allegedly distributing jobs through “kharchi (favoritism) and parchi (bribes),” positioning his party as the cleaner option in Haryana politics.

Election results Live: The Congress party has recorded its worst performance in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls, winning only one out of 29 contested seats in the Jammu region. Several key figures, including two working presidents, faced defeat in this election.

In a pre-poll alliance with the National Conference (NC), Congress fielded 32 candidates mainly in Jammu, while the NC put forward 51. Additionally, the CPI(M) and Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) each received one seat, and the two larger parties engaged in a 'friendly contest' in five constituencies.

In the Jammu region, the sole victory for Congress came in the Rajouri seat, a sharp decline from the five seats won in 2014.
