High cost of Pilgrimage

Apart from the high net-worth individuals, celebrities and other popular faces, many Indians have visited this year's Mahakumbh. Devotees who have visited Prayagraj come from many backgrounds and have faced one common problem, the high prices for flights, hotel stays and local transportation services, compared to regular levels.

Local Circles report showed that 87 per cent of passengers travelling by air paid nearly 50 to 300 per cent more than the regular airfare. 67 per cent of the devotees who decided to stay in area also paid higher prices due to the surge in demand and limited options.
